Questions and Answers

Tell us about your company name.
My mother inspired not only the businesses name but also the overall philosophy of our company. Throwing a memorable event doesn't mean you have to spend a fortune; by being smart, creative, and thoughtful, you can create an inspiring, special event with memories that will last a lifetime.
Why should someone hire you?
We have no misconceptions about whose event it is—this is YOUR event and we're here to help make it happen. While we are happy to give ideas and experienced advice, we will honor your vision, ideas, and budget. At the end of the day, we want you to walk away from your event and think, "I loved everything about our wedding!"
What drew you to this field/how did you get started?
I came from a music industry background and got my start with events there and with non-profit organizations. It wasn't really one thing that drew me to this field. The combination of coordinating all the different elements, the bit of day-of craziness, bringing in some touches of creativity, and the satisfaction you get when the clients tell you they're thrilled with the finished product is why we do what we do.
What makes a wedding memorable for you?
Oh, so many things! Seeing the groom tear up when he sees the bride for the first time walking down the aisle, seeing the pride and emotion on the faces of friends and family, watching a couple really enjoy themselves laughing and being together. While we can look back at venues, flowers, dresses and appreciate how amazing they are, it's really the people who make the event memorable.
What is the best advice you give a couple when planning their wedding?
Decide what's really important and don't get caught up in the little things. Remember that your friends and family are there to be with you and share your special day, not because they're getting dinner or a wedding favor. There is a big difference between the marriage and the wedding; the marriage is the heart of what you are celebrating and the wedding is the party. If you keep that in mind, all the small things that can get you frazzled take on a new meaning.
If you could have any superpower on the job, what would it be?
That would be a toss up between being able to make people feel instantly relaxed or slowing down the clock so we have more time to get things done!
What are 3 words that describe your personality?
Thoughtful, fun, understanding.
If you weren't in your current profession, what would you do instead?
I'd be a drummer in a rock band!! Who cares that I don't know how to play the drums!
What's your favorite way to wind down after a hard day?
As boring as it is, doing a whole lot of nothing does the trick. Cooking dinner, watching a movie, reading in bed. Sometimes, less is more!
Tell us about your pets, if you have any.
I don't remember a time in my life when I didn't have pets. Right now, I have two pups, Izzy and Delilah, who we lovingly refer to as our "dingbats." They hang out with us in the office and pester clients into petting them when they stop by.
