Rachel specializes in bridal hairstyling and offers wedding-day services for the bride and bridal party—all the way down to the flower girls. Your wedding will be a magical day to celebrate and Rachel will help make your day as beautiful and relaxing as possible.
Hair by Rach S serves the greater San Francisco Bay Area and several destinations including Lake Tahoe, Hawaii, Florida, and more!
Prices and/or Package Info
- Bride: $200+
- Bridesmaid: $150+
- Mother of bride/groom: $100+
- Flower girl: $55+
- On-site fee: $100 for up to 30 miles and $75 fee for each additional 50 miles

Tell us about your company name.
It's pretty straight forward, I'm Rachel and I'm a bridal hairstylist!
Why should someone hire you?
I have 12 years of experience doing beautiful bridal hair, and handling challenging attendants (like rogue bridesmaids and future mothers-in-law 😉).
What drew you to this field/how did you get started?
I've always loved doing hair. Before cosmetology school, I styled all of my friends for Junior Prom and Senior Ball. I fell in love with bridal hairstyling after assisting with my first wedding in the summer of 2010. I love being a part of such a special day.
What are some sources of inspiration or influences on your work?
I love helping brides feel confident on their big day. I take inspiration from gown design, photos of the bride's flowers, and the vibe of their wedding. I love when brides bring inspiration photos so I can customize the look to their hair and style.
Tell us about a favorite, unusual or very interesting moment at a wedding:
My most unusual wedding moment was one of the first weddings where I was in charge of styling the bride. When my co-stylist and I showed up, the entire bridal party (a group of ICU nurses) had hooked each other up to IVs because they had partied a little too hard the night before! We had to work around the IV stands, but everyone's hair turned out great and no one was hungover at the time of the wedding! Definitely one of the craziest things I've seen!
What makes a wedding memorable for you?
I love seeing the bridal party support and love their bride. It can be a nerve-wracking day and it's so great to see her team rally around her.
What have weddings taught you?
That you get to be picky on the most important day of your life.
What is the best advice you give a couple when planning their wedding?
Make sure you're happy with your choices; other people's opinions don't matter.
If you could have any superpower on the job, what would it be?
The power to calm everyone's nerves.

Outgoing, funny, loyal.
What's your favorite book/movie/work of art?
Favorite Book: Pride & Prejudice; Movie: Titanic; Art: Monet's Waterlilies.

What's your favorite marriage advice?
I'm not married but never go to bed angry.
Extracurricular activities:
Hanging out with my dog, going to spin class, and going to the beach.
If you weren't in your current profession, what would you do instead?
This is such a hard question because I've literally wanted to do hair my entire life. If I weren't a hairstylist I would be a travel journalist.
What’s your favorite way to wind down after a hard day?
A glass of wine and trashy reality TV.
Tell us about your pets, if you have any.
I have a french bulldog, Margot. She was rescued from a puppy mill in Taiwan and brought to the U.S. when she was 3 yrs old and I was lucky enough to adopt her.
What are some of your favorite places to eat—either everyday spots or special occasion splurges?
Everyday: Blue Agave Club in Pleasanton, excellent nachos & margaritas. Special Occasions:Chez Panisse in Berkeley, an absolutely incredible dining and service experience.
