Reviews

“I am more pleased with our wedding video than any other aspect of the wedding, and love that I can relive our day with the same excitement and emotion that was felt on that day.”

“Without a doubt, Lloyd Films offered the best quality for the most affordable price and packaging.”

“We are very happy with our wedding video. They provided a great trailer and full-length video of all of the moments. Also, they captured some of the more personal moments (exchange of gifts, reading of letters, etc) very well, which really made the video complete.”

“They were incredibly unobtrusive. We barely noticed them. But when we viewed the video they were there for every single important moment, even moments I didn’t even remember had happened.”

We love it. Now there’s no debating whether or not my husband cried during the ceremony!”

“They were early to arrive which gave them adequate time to set up and break the ice with everyone so that the wedding party was more relaxed. They stayed out of line of the photographer and could not have been more friendly and patient with all the craziness.”

“The wedding video was phenomenal and captured the important parts of the day.”

“They were absolute professionals, but not stiffs! Shawn is so nice, and he does such excellent work at such an affordable price.

Questions and Answers

Why should someone hire you?
What we pride ourselves on the most, I think, is that we try to never "phone it in" or create "cookie cutter" wedding videos, because… well… that would just be boring for everyone. One of the reasons it takes so long to edit a video is because we really pour over the vows and speeches and try to find the truly best moments to build the story. We need that narrative structure to make it "your wedding." Otherwise, it's just a pretty music video.
What are the common misconceptions about your services?
Probably the most common misconception we've heard is: "We already have a photographer, so why do we need a video?" To compare video to photography has always been a little frustrating. To be clear, we love the power of the image; that frozen moment in time that great photographers can capture. But your wedding day is so much more and it's going to be a blur. The only way to truly capture the emotion, energy, vows, speeches and the spirit of your day is through the story telling that comes from an artfully crafted video of your amazing day.

Best of all, it's only going to get better with time. By that I mean, life happens pretty fast. Before you know it there might be kids, new careers, new cities… time marches on. And while the styles will change and you will change, your video is only going to get that much more precious for its ability to preserve that moment in time that was one of the most important days of your life. (Sorry, it's really hard to avoid a few clichés when talking about this stuff. But clichés are clichés for a reason.)
What makes a wedding memorable for you?
Memorable weddings (and wedding videos) are a mysterious alchemy of planning, personalities, vendors, location, speeches, the wedding party and luck. But if I had to pick one thing that makes weddings memorable I would have to say the ones when the couple really lets their personalities shine are the ones we like the best.
What have weddings taught you?
All weddings are the same. All weddings are different. That is to say that most weddings have a similar schedule, rhythm and events. We always try to find the things that are different, that make your wedding special and that tell your story. Because beneath the common elements are the interesting personal things that make your wedding and you unique. Weddings have taught us that the most interesting videos, in our opinion, are expressions of your unique personalities. This is why we encourage couples to use opportunities like personal vows, writing letters and cards to each other and… maybe most importantly… just taking a deep breath and try to actually just enjoy your day. You would be surprised how hard that can be sometimes, with all the wedding "things" happening. One of my favorite quotes from a bride (from one of our favorite videos: Aaron & Lisa) is still this: "We wanted the wedding to be about us, not about the stuff." I think if you can remember to breathe and not sweat all the small things you'll be more relaxed, you'll enjoy your day and, honestly, you'll look better in the photos and video because you'll be smiling and having fun.
What is the best advice you give a couple when planning their wedding?
Don't forget to have fun! After filming more weddings than I really care to count, it always works out. All the little snags and hiccups gets resolved and things turn out fine.
