Gail Olberg is a kind-hearted officiant best known for her personal approach to every ceremony she officiates. Gail knows that each and every couple is unique, and believes that each and every ceremony should be the same. She takes pride in the time spent writing her ceremonies and tailoring them to her couples, and is always honored to play a part in your special day.
Gail is available for non-denominational services throughout the greater Richmond area, as well as the entire Commonwealth of Virginia (including civil ceremonies, vow renewals, and same-sex weddings). She’s well versed in both traditional and nontraditional themes and locations.
Prices and/or Package Info
Wedding ceremonies start at $175 with additional fees for rehearsal dinners, travel, equipment, holidays, and hand delivery of licensure.

I write ceremonies for each couple I marry. I always tell my couples that I am only a call, text or email away – even after they are married! Many of my couples stay in touch with me for years after their weddings. Many of my referrals have come from couples I have married or from couples who have attended someone else's wedding. If you really want to know why you should hire "any" Officiant, I suggest you read the reviews from past couples.What are the common misconceptions about your services?
Although the couple may likely have some idea of what they want their ceremony to be like, they don't have to know everything they want prior to meeting their Officiant. Your Marriage Officiant should have the experience to lead the couple along the path of creating the ceremony that fits their vision. Especially when it comes to helping the couple decide what to include and what is pertinent to their beliefs, sentiments and customs. It's never too early to hire your Officiant of choice.What drew you to this field/how did you get started?
I enjoy everything about being a Marriage Officiant. I love meeting the couples who ask me to perform their ceremony, and often stay in contact with many of my couples well after their special day. I have been blessed to be married for over 25 years to the best mate I feel the Lord could have paired me with. I truly enjoy the honor of bringing other couples with love in their hearts together to experience the same blessing through the union of marriage.What are some sources of inspiration or influences on your work?
The obvious joy my role brings to couples and their guests.What makes a wedding memorable for you?
Every couple, every wedding, every relationship is different and unique. It's the touching moments between the couples I marry that make it so clear to everyone present how much love they have for each other and how happy they are to be united in marriage.What is the best advice you give a couple when planning their wedding?
Be prepared that no matter how much planning you put into your wedding day, there will be something that does not go as planned – but don't let that spoil your day! Chances are, you will be the only one who notices, so make the best of it. Just because it isn't part of your plan doesn't mean your day will not be full of lovely memories.Tell us about a favorite, unusual or very interesting moment at a wedding:
Every wedding is different. But it's the unexpected, unplanned moments that can become the most touching and cherished memories.
I've had rings roll down the aisle, and I've married people in horse pastures, under train trestles, in cemeteries, tattoo parlors, in their homes, backyards and grand venues, theme weddings and couples dressed in costumes. I could go on and on…
What's your favorite marriage advice?
This is your day. Your ceremony can be simple, opulent, traditional...or non-traditional with your own ideas.
