Mindful Media Photography is a husband and wife photo + video team specializing in adventurous elopements in beautiful Northern CA locations! Their all-in-one elopement packages include photography, videography, an officiant, live music, a location guide, an online gallery, and more.
Lee and Angie are everyday adventurers that have turned their passion for travel and photography into an all-inclusive elopement service. Adventurous, clean, intimate.
Tell us about your company name.
We pride ourselves on being Mindful of our couples needs and wants, as well as in our everyday lives. It's just something we strive for every day!
Why should someone hire you?
I absolutely LOVE my job! It's my passion and I put everything into it and enjoy every minute of it. I pride myself in being professional, fun, and easygoing, and am always trying to put myself in the couple's shoes to create the best experience possible!
What drew you to this field/how did you get started?
The love of creating art and beautiful pictures. Once I started exploring all the different photography possibilities I really fell in love with working with couples the most!
What are some sources of inspiration or influences on your work?
Maddie Mae from Adventure Instead. She inspires me every day with her teaching as well as showed me the possibility of adventure weddings. I didn't even know they existed before I found her.
Tell us about a favorite, unusual or very interesting moment at a wedding:
We have so many, since we lean more towards the non-traditional weddings. We've had couples literally bicycle to their ceremony, couples clip jump on their wedding, couples hike 5 miles to their ceremony... There are too many to choose from!
What have weddings taught you?
They don't all have to be the same; it's your day and you can make it what you want! Anything is possible!
What is the best advice you give a couple when planning their wedding?
One step at a time. Take one thing, check it off the list, and then move onto the next. If you look at the whole picture when planning, it can get overwhelming.
If you could have any superpower on the job, what would it be?
To have extra arms, lol.
What are 3 words that describe your personality?
Laid back. Busybody. Positive.
What's your favorite book/movie/work of art?
Right now I'm into adventure climbing shows like Free Solo and The Alpinist.
What's your favorite quote?
Life's an adventure. Let's capture it!
What's your favorite marriage advice?
Never go to bed angry, don't sweat the small stuff, be patient and kind.
Extracurricular activities:
Hiking, disc golfing, playing music, adventures of any kind, our kids, and of course, creating amazing photos!
If you weren't in your current profession, what would you do instead?
Something creative for sure!
What's your favorite way to wind down after a hard day?
Hot chocolate after a long cold hike. Editing pics. Watching movies.
Tell us about your pets, if you have any.
We would love to have pets but we have been traveling in an RV for the last 10 years with our 2 kids and just didn't have room for them. We just bought a house, so maybe that will change!
What are some of your favorite places to eat—either everyday spots or special occasion splurges?
Local non-chain spots. Part of our family is vegetarian so we also try to find nice vegetarian restaurant options as well.
