This charming, family-run venue is nestled in the foothills south of Hopland, just a few miles from Highway 101. It sits on 100 acres of rolling hills dotted with centuries-old oak trees, and features a babbling creek, turtle pond, gardens, a small vineyard, and its postcard-perfect namesake red barn. The ranch's owners, the third generation of the Rorabaugh Family to live here, have spent the past 20 years transforming this former sheep and dairy farm into a wonderfully flexible, rustic event location.

The Barn itself is over 100 years old, and throughout its restoration the owners were careful to preserve and repurpose many original farm elements. Wagon wheel fans are hung from the rafters, and an elevated platform once used for sheep now holds a sound system connected to speakers positioned throughout the ranch. There's a sheltered, open-air catering area just off the barn, along with a large Santa Maria-style barbecue wagon—your hosts will even provide the wood!

Options for use of the outdoor areas are virtually unlimited. Three spacious lawns, as well as a patio adjoining the Barn, can host your ceremony, reception, and cocktail hour in any configuration you choose. With so much land, there's ample room for lawn games, a photo booth, and an al fresco lounge area—the hosts love to see couples express their creativity when deciding how to make the ranch their own.

The property is almost entirely solar powered, and a gravity-flow system uses rainwater collected in the ponds to keep the grounds and gardens green year-round. Red Barn Ranch also provides couples with a list of trusted local vendors in an effort to support Hopland's economy.

The Rorabaugh Family suggests making the most of your weekend by organizing a creekside campout for your family and friends. Alternatively, they offer trailer parking for those who might not want to "rough it".
