Services Offered

Robert London is a visual storyteller. With a deep understanding of light and subject, he has an eye for the best shot—capturing not only the most beautiful, but also the most meaningful moments of your wedding day. He aims to capture weddings in the most natural way possible—without bathing the whole room in artificial light or asking the couple to continually stop and pose.

He blends art and photojournalism yet isn’t bound by traditional wedding photography rules. Rather, he is stylistically broad—not limited to one particular style or technique—and uses the latest technologies to capture images that evoke emotion and intensity. With Robert London Photography, you can expect a true photographic representation of your wedding that will allow you to relive the day whenever you look through your wedding photos.

Prices and/or Package Info

Robert's most popular wedding package is $3500. More bare-bones packages (but still retaining highest quality) start as low as $1000.

Reviews

“He captured every moment, from my husband having a pin of his mother’s photo placed on his boutonniere, to our crazy friends Irish dancing. The photos were exactly what we wanted. We received our photos quickly and he captured both our ceremony and our reception beautifully. We really wanted very few formal photos, but Bob has a knack for taking the perfect candid shots.”

“Bob operates on the idea that the pictures should belong to you. Bob was the only photographer who had packages that offered us everything we wanted and then some.”

“We knew we wanted someone that would make us both feel comfortable, and Bob gave that to us 100%.”

“From the first conversation through the actual big day, Robert was professional, attentive, and immediately responsive to phone calls and emails. His pricing was very fair and his recommendations were spot on!”

“We felt he was extremely organized, took great photos, was able to really captured the essence of the day, and saw our vision.”

“Robert London was fabulous. Professional, friendly, affordable, great photographer. Non-intrusive, he did not disrupt the wedding at all. He also was a good, calm presence in the midst of chaos.”

“My husband is uncomfortable with taking pictures and Bob made him feel completely at ease.”

“I am a picky person. That being said, there is nothing about my experience with Bob London that I would change. It was truly a wonderful experience.”

Questions and Answers

What 3 words best describe your work?
Unobtrusive. Artistic Reportage.
What are your greatest achievements?
Recognition by the industry is always a big high. You first see this when you start competing for the same jobs with people that earlier were your idols in the industry. Also, the first time you see your work published—first in a magazine and then on the cover. Not many people achieve this.
Why should someone hire you?
A photographer is a big part of your wedding day; they are the one vendor you will be spending the most time with. I pride myself on my professionalism and my ability to work quickly while never sacrificing quality. One reason I began wedding photography was that I was a guest at a friend's wedding and the photographer ruined the wedding for the couple—it seemed like they barely attended their own wedding.
What are the common misconceptions about your services?
One bride said to me, "You do all these wonderful artistic shots but I really want this one really cheesy shot—could you do that?" One the many advantages of coming from a commercial background is that I have the skills to take ANY type of photo!
Tell us about your company name.
I created the brand Robert London Photography back in 1999 as before that I had a thriving business in the advertising and editorial fields under Bob London Photography. At the time, wedding photographers were looked down upon in the NYC market and were seen as second rate. I wanted to change that, but I did not wish to confuse my commercial clients so I created the "Robert" brand.
Tell us about a favorite, unusual or very interesting moment at a wedding:
At one wedding we were shooting on the street and Clinton Kelley from the show "What Not To Wear" was filming nearby. I waved to him to come over to take a shot with the bride—and to my surprise, he did! I mentioned to him that now is not the time to make any suggestions on the bride's dress.
What makes a wedding memorable for you?
In my experience, most weddings are very similar. Sometimes the speeches can be touching, but I find most of the emotions come out while the bride is getting ready. It is the last private moment they have with their mom or someone who is special to them.
What is the best advice you give a couple when planning their wedding?
Hire a wedding planner, and try to have fun!
What are 3 words that describe your personality?
Cool. Calm. Thoughtful.
Extracurricular activities:
Learning, skiing, and yoga.
If you weren't in your current profession, what would you do instead?
Politics.
What's your favorite way to wind down after a hard day?
Walk my dog and have a glass of wine.
Tell us about your pets, if you have any.
My dog Sebastian we adopted almost 12 years ago. He is a dachshund mix. Sebi as we call him goes with me almost everywhere and is famous for walking on the streets of NYC with no leash.
What are some of your favorite places to eat—either everyday spots or special occasion splurges?
I like to cook and when I go out to eat I like it to be in a different country.
