Reviews

"She was hands down my favorite wedding vendor and I hope that I have another event that allows me to use her again."

"She took the input I had and the creative freedom I gave her and created a masterpiece."

"I'm not sure if the term 'happy' describes how I felt when she walked in with my bouquet. I was ecstatic. Her ideas to help bring dimension and a splash of color were spot on and I couldn't have been happier that I took her suggestions and ran with them. It was all better than what I had envisioned, 100%."

"The flowers looked better than I thought they would. Jess totally understood the look I wanted for the wedding and executed everything perfectly."

"Jessica was one of my go-to gals during the vision casting part of wedding planning, even beyond florals."

"She was warm and friendly, professional with a positive attitude, knowledgeable, and she told me that all my ideas were doable within my budget."

"Jess even stayed to make sure the ceremony florals were moved up to the reception and set up correctly, since we were reusing the arrangements."

"Her expertise and knowledge were super helpful. And she was super easy to collaborate with."

"The florals were one of my favorite parts of the wedding day and the most talked about aspect from the guests, to this day!"

"I would recommend her to anyone and everyone...they would be lucky to have a florist as dedicated, caring and kind as Jessica."

Questions and Answers

What 3 words best describe your work?
Lush, organic, show-stopping.
Tell us about your company name.
Royal Bee comes from a combination of high-end (Royal) and down-to-earth and natural (Bee). I also love all animals, but have a huge spot in my heart for bees. So much so, that we donate to the Save The Bees foundation.
What are the common misconceptions about your services?
A misconception would be to compare working with me to other florists. I give a lot of time, energy, and friendship to my clients—something not found elsewhere. I provide an experience that is tailored to you, and your flowers will truly tell your unique story. People will talk about your wedding and your flowers for months and even years to come!
What drew you to this field/how did you get started?
I've always "played with flowers" as far back as I can remember, and started doing events for friends and family over a decade ago. After college, I had the unfortunate loss of three very close loved ones. Doing the flowers for their memorials got me through the unbelievable sadness and depression that loss can trigger, and reminded me that there is still beauty in life. Shortly thereafter I was offered a job opportunity, which quickly spun into a business.
What are some sources of inspiration or influences on your work?
In my personal designs I frequently turn to nature, as well as some of my favorite all-star designers. But on the regular, my inspiration is my clients’ dreams.
Tell us about a favorite, unusual or very interesting moment at a wedding:
Tears of joy when brides see their bouquet is what I live for!
What makes a wedding memorable for you?
The unique details that speak to the bride and groom, and of course, some incredible flowers. I love seeing a bride/couple get creative with the details!! I also love seeing the couple come together with their family to add some DIY or creative touches. When done well it adds so much personality and love to the event.
What have weddings taught you?
Weddings have taught me to be over-prepared, and that everything goes wrong all of the time… lol, not really. But some stuff will, and to just roll with the punches, problem solving along the way.
What is the best advice you give a couple when planning their wedding?
Always hire at least a day-of coordinator who's good. Don't DIY your florals unless you don't want to enjoy the few days leading up to your wedding, and be stressed and overwhelmed more than you can imagine. It's A LOT of work. And don't hire friends to do the important jobs like photography, planning, catering, etc. You want them to enjoy the wedding. In every scenario, I've heard couples wish they'd hired a pro instead of a friend, because it never works out as you planned.
If you could have any superpower on the job, what would it be?
To have as many arms as needed, and to freeze time…can I have two powers??
What are 3 words that describe your personality?
Easygoing, friendly, talkative.
What's your favorite marriage advice?
I prefer advice that speaks the truth about how difficult a forever relationship is. We need to be prepared and welcoming of the downs as much as the ups.
Extracurricular activities:
Well, floral design… haha, but also baking French macarons and cakes, handcrafted paper art/cards and invitations, and makeup artistry (am I a walking wedding? lol). Oh, and loving animals as well as saving bugs from people who don’t like them.
If you weren't in your current profession, what would you do instead?
This is THE profession. It took me 35 years to find what I was made for. This is it! But if I could, I’d figure out how to add traveling the globe to this amazing career.
What’s your favorite way to wind down after a hard day?
Watching a movie with the fire on and a hard cider at hand, with my love, two dogs and three cats at my side.
Tell us about your pets, if you have any.
I have a mini dachshund "Ranger" who is both fetch master and snuggle bug extraordinare, we actually believe he releases Valium when snuggling with you. Also, a dachshund/Jack Russell mix "Frito," who I saved from the streets of downtown LA. He has so much love for us that I can see heart emoji bubbles coming from his eyes when he looks at me. And my three cats: a Maine Coon, my princess "Jackie," who thinks I'm her universe, a Snowshoe, "Emily Bug,", who is sweet and spicy and gorgeous! And a huge grey and black Tabby, "Oliver" who was definitely a dog in a past life, he has a most friendly sweet temperament. They are my whole world, and make life worth living.
What are some of your favorite places to eat—either everyday spots or special occasion splurges?
I love Crossroads In Hollywood, as well as Elf and Little Pine in Silverlake, ...in case you missed it, I’m a vegetarian and these restaurants are THE BEST!! I also love Veggie Grill for everyday eats…order their fries with a cup of lentil soup and a side of VG cheese, then pile it on top for some BOMB off-menu chili cheese fries!!
