Reviews

"Sarah captured every single moment that we were hoping for, even the ones we didn't know we needed."

"I think personality may be an overlooked trait in a photographer, but during the potentially stressful or nerve-wracking parts of the day, having someone who is positive, organized, and adaptable is priceless! It’s just a bonus that she is great at her job and takes beautiful pictures, too."

"She is worth absolutely every moment and penny."

"Sarah was everything I could have ever imagined. To work with a stranger yet feel like she's your most trusted friend in your bridal party is unheard of...that's Sarah."

"She is detailed, organized, efficient, and always keeps her promises."

"Her communication was always extremely friendly and professional, not to mention she always responded in a timely manner. She told me she was very type A — and coming from someone who is very type B — it was amazing to know she was on top of her stuff and I could count on her!"

Questions and Answers

What 3 words best describe your work?

Ethereal. Fun. Natural.

Why should someone hire you?

I'm unique because of my background in commercial fashion and swimwear photography! I have a special skillset when it comes to editing because I've been able to combine what I've learned from head creatives at some of the best brands for this line of work. I've done and seen it all and put everything I've learned over my 10 years into each of my galleries.

What drew you to this field/how did you get started?

I hit the age where a lot of my friends were getting engaged and married. Two of them were begging me to do their weddings – even though I had never done one, and was very much still in the commercial photography realm. Reluctantly, I said yes, and I had the time of my life! I realized getting to tell someone's story is so rewarding and so much fun. I still tell them all the time they're the sole reason this is now my career.

What are some sources of inspiration or influences on your work?

I take a lot in from the setting of a photo and you'll see this throughout my work. Whether it's a cityscape or a golden field, I'm always finding ways to frame in my clients while still accentuating the beauty of the location behind them.

What makes a wedding memorable for you?

The little unplanned moments. It could be a teary eyed speech when someone didn't think they'd cry, or some fabulous dance moves after one-too-many. I love getting to see the personality behind the photos!

What is the best advice you give a couple when planning their wedding?

Don't listen to anyone else's opinions of what they think you should do on your big day (especially your mother-in-law). Make it uniquely yours so when you look back on the photos years later you see an event that captures the spirit of you and yours at your most authentic!

What are 3 words that describe your personality?

Fun. Funny. Trustworthy.

If you weren't in your current profession, what would you do instead?

Floral arranging! In my free time you can find me experimenting with flower arrangements in my kitchen, or helping out on my family's flower farm!

What are some of your favorite places to eat—either everyday spots or special occasion splurges?

When in SF, the BEST authentic Italian spot is Sodini's in the heart of North Beach, SF. When in LA, you can find me at KazuNori demolishing their scallop hand rolls.
