Questions and Answers

Why should someone hire you?

I am at your wedding to document the day. This means I’m not just focused on the time set aside to take portraits, but on the entire day, making sure I’m there to capture every second and not missing a moment. Both mine and my clients’ favorite images are always the candid photos. So I try to make the time we have to do formal portraits informally – guiding but not directing or forcing the bride and groom. I never let the camera leave my eye so I can capture that giggle, that sparkle in the eye, that touch, which almost always happens before or after the formal photo.

With the ever-changing world of technology, I try to stay current with techniques and equipment while staying true to the art and what made me fall in love with photography.

What have weddings taught you?
Weddings have taught me what makes a good photographer. While technical proficiency, a good eye, imagination, and creativity are a must, the best photographers are the ones that are also patient. They are the ones that the bride and groom and their families can look to for guidance, that will keep the wedding moving and the bride and groom happy and stress free, but at the same time, capturing everything that is happening, creating beautiful portraits, and not missing any of the big moments.
What drew you to this field/how did you get started?

I've had a love for photography since I was a little girl. I got my first camera at the age of 12 and took it with me everywhere. As I got older and many of my friends got married, I heard so many regrets and sad stories from them about their wedding photos. I started photographing my friends weddings, and then their friends' weddings, and I realized how much I loved it.

What gives me the most enjoyment from photographing someone's wedding are the emotions I get to capture – the once in a lifetime moments. I can't think of a wedding where I didn't have a tear roll down my cheek. Even though we are strangers when we start, by the end we have a very special and unique relationship, and I value the extra time and attention that I can give to each client my keeping my business small.
